This week begins the period of mourning for the Jewish people, known as the Three Weeks. The Holy Temple was besiged and destroyed twice during this period, and we commemorate this time by avoiding music and wedding celebrations. The mourning period begins with a fast day, known as Shiva Asar B'Tamuz., which came out on Tuesday this week.
The reason given for the destruction of the Second Temple is because of internal strife between the Jewish people. We use this time to work on strengthening our interpersonal relationships.
For this reason, Tuesday was a quieter day at Camp Dror, as the ladies painted and decorated little jugs. They then wrote compliments for each other on little pieces of paper, which they dropped into each other's jugs.
Later on, they relaxed by watching the movie, Radio, a 2003 sports film about accepting others who are different.
